  • Post-Treatment Guidelines
The skin may be slightly sensitive after your treatments. We recommend the following: Avoid sun exposure for at least 15 days after treatment. This includes tanning beds. Use Aloe vera or cool towels can be placed on the skin to soothe tingling or irritation. Gyms, hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs should be avoided for 24-48 hours after treatment. No additional laser treatment or chemical peels should be conducted on the treated skin for at least 15 days before and after the session. Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 when outdoors for any amount of time. Once the skin is no longer sensitive, mild exfoliation can be done to prevent ingrown hairs.
  • What Is Laser Hair Removal?
This is the perfect procedure for someone who is not happy with constant shaving, tweezing, or waxing. Getting this treatment leaves your skin smoother for far longer than shaving and without the razor bumps that we all have experienced.
  • How Does It Work?
Laser safely removes unwanted facial and body hair by selectively targeting melanin (pigment) inside the hair follicle. This works by generating energy in the form of heat at the root of the hair and destroying the hair without damaging the skin.
  • Does It Work With All Skin and Hair Types?
Laser hair removal has become quite advanced in recent years. The best results are still achieved when there is sufficient contrast between the colour of the skin and the colour of hair. However, advances in technology allow us to now treat lighter hair colours and darker skin tones, even tanned skin. Very light blonde hair or “baby hairs” may remain unaffected by lasers and so cannot be treated with great efficacy. Unfortunately the laser does not work on grey and white hairs.
  • Does It Hurt?
Most individuals experience no more than a slight stinging sensation as the laser pulses are applied. Some parts of the body do tend to be more sensitive than others such as beard and bikini areas.
  • How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Although each client is unique, experience tells us that you can expect an average of 6-10 treatments spaced 4 to 5 weeks apart, depending on the body location of the unwanted hair. Laser technology is designed to treat the hair in the first phase of growth. Additional factors such as age, hormones, diet, metabolism and medication influence hair growth and play a role in the location, thickness, and resilience of your hair.
  • Are There Any Risks or Side Effects of Laser Hair Removal?
The risk of severe side effects are rare. When treatment is conducted by trained professionals, laser hair removal is expected to incur only mild side effects. These include: Redness and irritation. Some people also notice slight swelling for a short time after their sessions. Typically, these side effects diminish within a few hours or extreme cases two to three days. However, some more sensitive areas may also feel slightly sunburned. These may be soothed with a cold compress. Changes in skin pigment. Laser treatments can temporarily affect skin pigment. People with lighter skin may have some bruising. People with darker skin may notice some temporary swelling. These are expected to resolve on their own.
